The Deliverer

Is it a sin to be socially conscience?
To be aware of what's going on in the world
To gain the whisperers knowledge
The gossipers language
New mental food to expand the brian
To be fruitful in your thoughts
So that your world's balance
Won't be left up to an ignorant fate
Nothing is ever safe to say
And someone is always feeling offended
This sensitive society we call home
It's an estranged place for the gifted
We need to be pushed to our limits
We need to be awakened from our slumber
These burdens on our shoulders, don't feed our hunger
Remorse is the bitter's thunder
Recourse is the journey of another
To be conscience
To be offended
To be ignorant
We should be livid
Yet we're content with whatever is given
Content isn't happy
And if you want it bad enough
You will earn it gladly
You cannot walk unless you crawl
You cannot be a chief if you haven't been an indian
The leader in the sand will sink
The leader on land is the deliverer.

Révolte

Tired
Tried
True
Deception
Preaching revolution and change
But afraid to die
"You're about that life"
We never stop to think twice
The constant games of cats and mice
Drowning in materialism
Embossed in the superficial
Lost in individualism
Assassinated by racism
Fist in the sky
The rain that never dies
The cynicism that we ride
The pain that never cries
Short are the nights
Long are the days
As young men decay
Old men never relayed
Guidance
Dismay
If not forever, then today
If not forever, then always.

Unperfected

Loving you is surreal
Everything that I feel
Everything that I know
All of my energy
All of my attention
All of my being
Is giving you the best of me, unperfected
You make me better
You drive me harder
You are my best friend
My connection with you makes me fly farther
Work harder, play smarter
All while trying to develop a relationship with our Father
The world will never know how much you mean to me
We've shared our fears and tears
Now is the time to share the years
Include lots of laughter
Include lots of memories
So many bursting over that its never enough to contain
You know the way my hands face when I walk
You know the passion of your name in my talk
You know when I'm listening
You know when I can not understand my own thoughts
You see what no one else sees behind closed doors
You see my failures and see the pain in my victories
You see in the flaws a better me
You see in my heart what I can't see
All while letting me find me
You are always there for me
The feelings I have for you only continue to grow stronger
The faith I have in you never falters
The best of you is the greatness in me
Forever isn't so bold
Its what's meant to be.

If I Were A Failure

If I were a failure
If I were a fluke
I'd still be better than average
I'd be credited as being a fool
The world would crush my bones
Stress would set my soul ablaze
Darkness wouldn't be seen as corrupt
Needles would have no restrain
If I were a failure
If I were a hopeless cause
Would my friends forsake me
Would me family forget I existed at all
Could I bend beams with a thought
Could I break all ideals with grace
Would Jesus still love me
Would I have a soul mate
If I were a failure
I'd still stand tall
See the glass half full
Achieve what seemed impossible
Break the smiles of the doubting race
Make this world my own
Understand what it means to be great
For the failures of the meek never amount to much at all
But the failures of the brave bring an abundance with the harvest in the fall
All in all
Through thick in thin
Trial after Trial
Tears, smoke and magic
Failures are the triumphs no one sees
The victories that aren't counted that seem make-belief
Failure is the distance a man goes until he breaks the odds of fate
Failure is who we are
Failure is the only perfected human trait
Failure is everything we never want to be
Failure is the only thing in life that comes free.

Watch The Rain Dance

Can I get an Amen
Can I get a break man
The sweat from my brow
Until death is the vow
In a rhythm with the clouds
In the depths we wonder how
On top of the world today
Near the bottom tomorrow
We rise and fall
We raise questions
But we don't understand at all
Rejection is our hated pain
Rejection is a twisted domain
Acceptance is healing
Acceptance isn't fulfilling
Clouded thoughts
Freed smoke
Prayer stance
Rain dance
Can I be my own man
Nothing is an unchanged plan
Paving a path
Seeking a journey
Finding my way
Finding your self
Cut a long the dotted line
Questions lacked, ignorance
Envious values, no relevance
Mistakes
Struggles
Mistakes
Humbled
Fumbled
Troubled
Puzzled
Chance
Prance
New day
New dance
Broken smiles
Circumstance
Circumstance
Circumstance
You need to work
I can't get a job
I work hard for my money
Coming out with questions as if you are God
The selfish don't understand
The greedy don't belong in the promised land
You haven't been a broken man
Unless you've been broke man
The first will be last
The last will be first
Definition of knowing your moment
Blessed, never cursed.

Death to February

I hope the whole world can hear my cry
I wish this generation would open their eyes
In 1999 the government was convicted of murdering Dr. King
They say let freedom ring
I guess that's why the KKK is allowed to have a large rally
They shut down the Black Panthers
What happened to freedom of expression
So you mean the white man's oppression is the only exception?
It's funny that they're trying to take slavery out of children's history books
But the NCAA is allowed to run kids into ground just to make mega bucks
No compensation, so many broken dreams
Thanksgiving represents the death of the natives by whites for their livelihood and beliefs
The whites stole the native's lands, the whites were the immigrants
If that's not illegal, then who knows what is
Let's ask the Mexicans who just want a new place to live
Better lives for their families
Is that too much too give
Cause it was so much to take
There is always so much at stake
Our mother's fear what we'll say cause they might try to take their babies away
Take us back to tar and feathered just to claim they've freed us
The fearful are the wicked
God why can't the wicked cease from us
For love sees no color
But unfortunately hate does
They try to blame it all on Jesus
But look how they treated Him
Then they try to blame their mistakes on the black president
It's funny how no one ever claims ownership or even remembers past events
I guess the devil still dances when our voices quake
That explains why the rain falls through the sun's rays
The hate will never stop not even for lunch time
Not even in crunch time can we be oblivious
We must be conscience of the dangers that bring no deliverance
Awareness is the only air not tainted with diseases
400 years of pyramids and we still haven't found freedom.

Rhythms

Broken hearts
Slighted vision
Broken hearts
Deep convictions
Failures
Triumphs
Judges
Rulers
Kings
Weight
Strength
Heart
From land through sea
Light your path
Swear your oath
Love someone
You never know
Just love someone
